Moonlighter 2 Upgrade Guide

A Moonlighter 2 upgrade guide is a spend-order page for Tresna’s purse. Sliver sells backpack cells after you meet him in a Kalina question-mark room. GameSpot’s November 2025 writeup still has the first two prices: 4,000 gold, then 8,000, stepping up from there. A later row needs crafting materials the Early Access article did not fully list. K33P3R sells shop ranks. Rank 4 arrived with Blob-Life Balance (more floor). Rank 5 at 1.0 adds cosmetics, chest space, and a companion slot. Tomo sells deluxe research as a quality wager. The Comtesse sells furniture. Andrei sells weapons once you keep the mats. The Witch sells survivability. None of those NPCs should be first.

Lifetime gold on the plaza cube still counts what you spent. Bag gold is not wasted toward Vault keys. Emptying the pouch on carpets while Epics rot on Kalina floors is the actual waste.

How this Moonlighter 2 upgrade guide orders 1.0 gold

Tresna plaza Vault cube
Official Steam still: the cube counts earned gold. Spend on cells before carpets.

Meet Sliver. Buy the cheap cells before carpets, before a fashion bloblet, before Tomo deluxe, before a Sun Display Case. TechRaptor’s backpack page was a stub in our scrape; this site will not invent extra cell counts. Believe the vendor panel on your file. Display cases are shop inventory, not run inventory. If your problem is leaving Epics on a Gallery floor, buy Sliver, not furniture.

Then fund Andrei’s path with Sun Eaters, Echo Links, Oneiric Stones, and Moon Flowers instead of selling them for perk juice. NWR’s Switch review noted that melee, armor, and gun upgrades come at a hefty gold price and that special mats drop from dungeon bosses. Be choosy. One weapon path beats a little of everything.

Then rank the shop when the bag already comes home full. Rank 4 is floor. Rank 5 is 1.0’s cosmetics, chest size, extra Bloblet seat. Chest size is leftover stock, not dungeon cells. Mixing those two upgrades is the most common misread of “how to get more backpack space.” Furniture from Homeware boosts sale value around showcases. Prima cites a Sun Display Case that tips 200 gold on an uncommon. Buy it after the 8,000 cell, not before.

Tomo deluxe is a quality bet. Skip it while Vault keys and bag cells are the bottleneck. The Witch tree is survivability during runs. Buy it when Herald, not the till, is killing you. Blob vouchers and the Pet Seller arrived in May 2026. Pets sprinkle. They do not add rows. Apparel is a gold sink that never adds a cell.

Nou can sell some discovered mats after you find them, which is a shortcut when a boss material is the only blocker. Question-mark rooms also hide recipes. Skipping every mystery node to race Herald is how Sliver never appears and how upgrades stall.

What 1.0 added without changing the order

Combat HUD with backpack in a canyon
Official Steam still: Hardcore dumps the run bag. Practice upgrades on a normal file.

Version 1.0 shipped Vault VII, Infinite Vault, Hardcore, Bomb Path, four Endless weapon aspects, shop level 5, Endless Armour/Spark crits, and a Machine Gun gadget. Game Informer, TechTimes, GamingBolt, and XboxHub agree on that payload. None of it replaces Sliver-first. Endless aspects remix Short Sword, Great Sword, Spear, and Gauntlets after you already have a path. Infinite Vault is a per-run gold treadmill after the story cube. Hardcore dumps the expedition bag. Do not make Hardcore your first file while the starter grid is still tiny.

Greed and Glory (March 2026) brought HEX, Blo-Blitz, Colosseum, extra rooms, and an economy retune. Blob-Life (May) brought pets, Poison, shop 4, Vault VI. Those patches expanded sinks. They did not change “bag before carpet.”

Steam lists the base SKU at $29.99 with a launch-week sale in the scrape. Deluxe is Zen Patio, artbook, soundtrack. Those real-money packs are not Tresna upgrades. Collector merch from Silver Lining is a box, not DLC.

Mistakes that scramble spend order

Furniture before 4,000 and 8,000. Selling crafting mats to “make space.” Treating rank 5 as extra dungeon slots. Installing Moonlighter 1 bag mods. Waiting for co-op to carry overflow. Funding bloblet hats while Andrei still wants four Sun Eaters. Entering Hardcore as a gold-saving plan.

The cube is lifetime earnings. Spending still counts. Hoarding 8,000 “for later” while Epics rot is a misread of both bag and keys. Infinite Vault later asks for per-run gold; a bigger bag is how those thresholds get hit without a perfect combat file.

Canonical URLs live on https://moonlighter2wiki.wiki. Open backpack-space for the cell myth, chest-size for shop storage, shop-level for rank perks, bloblet for pets, furniture for placement.

Community lists that promise a full material table for Sliver’s second row are unofficial. Craft what Andrei shows. If the row is grey, you are missing a named mat, not a secret key. This site will not invent unofficial material names.

PixelNitro’s 8–15 second Switch 2 loads punish death-restart more than they punish a clean upgrade path. Learn Herald. DualSense and Game Pass do not change vendor prices. Play Anywhere will not import Steam gold.

HowLongToBeat’s ~14 hour main story assumes you stop decorating first. Cosmetics, bloblet apparel, Greed Colosseum pride, and Infinite thresholds are the hours after that. NWR found progress slow at the outset because arsenal costs are real. That is this page’s warning, not a complaint about 3D.

Do not invent a named unlock at 750000 gold and spend toward a statue. Read the cube. TheGamer’s Early Access notes still mention a Vault challenge around 200,000 gold for the Burning Hammer era. 1.0 added Vault VII and Infinite Vault without publishing a public gold-key table on Steam.

Controller versus mouse matters for throwing the backpack at Herald more than for paying Sliver. Pay Sliver with either. Steam Cloud syncs purchased cells. It will not sync a BepInEx pack. Family Sharing does not change vendor prices. Demo hours on Steam or PS5 can teach you that the 4,000 cell exists before you buy 1.0.

Silver Lining’s November boxes include the same upgrade NPCs. You do not wait until 13 November 2026 to meet Sliver. Digital 2 September already has him. Physical is a shelf. Game Pass day one already has rank 5. There is no extra slime on console.

If gold is sitting in the pouch “for later,” spend it on the next cell. The cube counts earned gold. An unspent 8,000 while Epics rot on Aeolia floors is a misread. Community searches include Japanese “荷物” and English “chest size.” Chest size is shop storage. 荷物 in this sequel is the synergy backpack. Say that out loud if you are coming from 2018 so you stop looking for rotate-to-fit upgrades that no longer exist.

Version 1.0 did not publish a public table of every Sliver tier. Open the vendor, read the next cell, buy it when Herald is no longer deleting your haul. If rank 5 is grey, you have not paid K33P3R, not a missing DLC. If Tomo is expensive, that is the point of a wager.

Keep this order on a sticky note: mystery node, Sliver cells, boss mats to Andrei, one weapon path, shop rank, furniture, deluxe, pets, carpets. Infinite Vault cosmetics are last. Hardcore is never first.

Use this Moonlighter 2 upgrade guide until Sliver is broke, Andrei has his mats, rank 5 is a till upgrade instead of a biome fantasy, and Tomo waits behind the bag.
