When You Shock a Relic in Moonlighter 2

Moonlighter 2 shock a relic is two different player questions smashed into one search. Gallery is the electricity biome. HEX is a combat curse path from Greed and Glory. Steam copy says relics grant combat bonuses and backpack synergies. None of those sentences is a published table that says “pay X sparks, print Y gold.” This page splits the combat proc from the shop face so you stop frying a unique mat on a rumor.

What players mean by Moonlighter 2 shock a relic

Vault boss fight against Tyke with pink projectiles and a teal-glow arena
Official Steam still: Gallery-adjacent vaults are loud. Electricity flavor is not a shop exploit.

Combat side. Gallery rooms and the Curator lean electricity. Relics you socket can add bonuses that look like shock, battery, or chain language in their Codex row. HEX curses, delayed damage, can spread, and can pair with Thunder according to COGconnected’s March 2026 notes. Poison and Bomb Path are other paths. If your tooltip says a socketed piece shocks an enemy, that is a run bonus. It is not a shop printer. It does not change Cheap versus Perfect. Prima is explicit: faces read the base number. Quality multiplies gold after.

Shop side. Players mash “shock” because Deluxe Tomo research, quality digits, and Gallery naming all sound like voltage. Tomo’s archaeologist task wants four Echo Links from Gallery trash. Deluxe research is a diamond wager on quality. Riverriser’s Steam guide about max quality (999 spark) is a community luck method. This site will not reprint a luck table or call it official. If your file literally offers a Shock action on a relic in a menu, log the Codex sentence and proceed. Do not crowdsource a 999 recipe as patch notes.

Do not shock (or discard, burn, or vendor) named mats. Sound of Hubris, Alabaster Candle, Quantum Core, Broken Rocket, both king masks, Eris scrolls, and stacks of Sun Eaters or Echo Links are crafts. A Gallery widget with a lightning icon can still be a vendor relic with a face. Read the name. If Babyl needs it, keep it. If the Codex already has Perfect and it is not socketed for the next biome, sell it like anything else.

Rupture is not shock. Herald’s cannons throw ruptured objects. You hit them with the backpack to strip shield bars. That is a boss verb with its own URL. Confusing rupture with shock is how people stand in a puddle waiting for a spark proc that is not the mechanic. Jump ground waves. Roll lasers. Throw when safe. Burst. Leave the circle.

Backpack synergies can include quality boosts and status links. Steam says arranging loot unlocks those. The 2018 spatial puzzle is gone. Socket the electricity piece next to whatever the tooltip actually names, not next to a random Epic because a thumbnail said “battery.” If the bag is full, the booster still beats a vendor common. Shop chests are overflow, not a second synergy grid.

Hardcore 1.0 makes this question expensive. TechTimes: lose the run, lose every relic from that expedition. Do not test an unknown shock interaction on a legendary you have not stamped. Practice on a normal file. Infinite Vault cosmetics are not shock tiers.

Furniture does not shock relics. Comtesse showcases tip gold (Prima’s Sun Display Case example is a 200 gold uncommon tip). That is a shop-wide or case-wide modifier. It is not Gallery lightning. K33P3R ranks do not add a shock rarity. Bloblets do not electrify stock. Calendar demand can nudge a price without adding a voltage minigame.

Greed and Glory added HEX and extra rooms. Blob-Life added Poison. 1.0 added Bomb Path. None of the launch blogs described a player-facing “shock this relic in town” gold exploit. If a 1.0 patch adds a literal button, believe the tooltip on your file and ignore Google Sheets titled Greed and Glory.

Mistakes: frying Quantum Core; treating 999 spark community posts as Digital Sun notes; mixing HEX curse with shop faces; standing in Curator electricity hoping it revalues the bag; installing Moonlighter 1 mods to restore a puzzle that “shocks” slots; paying for a shock list.

CGMagazine’s 3D-tell complaint is relevant in Gallery: silhouettes plus electricity rooms are noisy. Stand where contrast is good. PixelNitro’s OLED notes help Switch 2 Night and Gallery more than they help a shop shift.

Canonical URLs live on https://moonlighter2wiki.wiki. Relic-guide is keep versus sell. Relics overview is biome flavor. Rupture is backpack returns. Prices are faces. This URL answers the spark search without inventing a printer.

Display case pricing a relic from the backpack grid
Official Steam still: faces still read base value after any combat proc. Shock does not rewrite Perfect.

Voltage, quality, and the bag

Gallery trash can drop Echo Links while the rooms crackle. That coincidence is why this search exists. Links go to Tomo and to Ultimate crafts. Crackling is wallpaper. Socket an electricity bonus if the tooltip says it helps the next node. Then go home and stamp faces on the base number. If you raised a price because a relic “got shocked,” you mixed a combat proc with Prima’s test. Put the number back and read the frown.

Curator is not a fryer. Quantum Core is a mat. Jail of the Lustrous needs it. Standing in a pool hoping the Core becomes deluxe is how Babyl stays angry. Tyke’s rocket is the same sentence in a second area. HEX may spread delayed damage in those rooms; it still does not reprint a Perfect.

Deluxe Tomo research is the closest town verb to “zap quality.” It is a diamond wager. Riverriser’s 999 community method is luck. If you enjoy gambling, gamble on a duplicate uncommon, not on Hubris. Stamp first. Gamble second. Sell third. That order keeps shock experiments off unique names.

Backpack arrangement after 2018. Synergies replace Tetris. If two pieces mention chain or spark, socket them and fight one node. Log whether anything actually chained. If nothing chained, you believed a thumbnail. Steam said arranging loot unlocks synergies; it did not publish a spark-to-gold formula. Wikipedia said the spatial puzzle is gone. Believe both. Do not install a bag mod to “shock slots.”

Hardcore plus curiosity is expensive. Test unknown buttons on a normal file with a stamped common. Infinite Vault cosmetics will not add a voltage rarity. Rank 5 will not. Bloblets will not. Furniture tips gold; they do not electrify stock. Calendar demand nudges a face; it does not add a minigame.

If 1.0 printed a literal Shock action on your menu, screenshot the Codex sentence and play. This page will update from dumps, not from unofficial printers. Canonical URLs stay on https://moonlighter2wiki.wiki for keep-versus-sell and for Herald’s different verb.

A practical test on a stamped common. Socket the electricity piece. Fight one Gallery trash node. See if anything procs. Go home. Check the face. If the face moved, a patch changed Prima’s rule and you should re-read the Codex — that would be news. If the face did not move, you learned the search. Sell the common or keep the socket for the next electricity node. Never run that test on a Core, a rocket, or a scroll. Canonical keep-versus-sell remains the relic-guide URL.

When a tooltip actually lets you Moonlighter 2 shock a relic, treat it as a combat socket or a Codex line — never as a gold printer — and keep unique mats out of any experiment that is not written on the item.
